MAJOR GRANTS PROGRAMME OPEN FOR 2025 APPLICATIONS

The Social Investment Fund (SIF), which has awarded over £5 million through its Major Grants Programme since it launched in 2021, has just opened its latest round of major grants.
Applicants, which must be registered charities or NPOs operating within or to benefit the Bailiwick of Guernsey, can apply for grants over £15,000.

The majority of previous recipients have received multi-year grants to enable the continuation of key services, with some organisations receiving funds to develop, increase or introduce new services.

Major grants in 2024 were awarded across diverse sectors such as community support, conservation, heritage, health and wellbeing, young people, training, education and community transport.

For example, Guernsey Conservation Volunteers received £48,000 towards salary costs over three years to continue developing and delivering practical conservation work parties and raising awareness through education, to maintain or enhance Guernsey’s natural environment and biodiversity.

St John Guernsey LBG also received funding for salaries over three years, towards management costs. The £130,000 grant will enable the development of the charity and its operations, including the development of the youth programme and managing volunteers.

The full list of major grants recipients can be viewed on SIF’s website.

Sadie Siviter de Paucar, Lead Officer of the Social Investment Fund, said:
“Major grants make a big difference to organisations which need to sustain their operations or develop new services responding to needs within our community. SIF has more funding available this year to benefit local charities with about £1m for our two rounds of major grants. We know that funding continues to be a serious challenge in the current economic climate, so we encourage charities from any sector to enquire about applying.”
